For the enterprise edition, documents uploaded by students are automatically scanned in the background (behind the scene), and the results are rendered in the Assignment Details Page of PlaXhunter. Students or eductators don't need to do anything to get their documents scanned, when using the enterprise edition.

For the community edition, however, the process is slightly different. The first action is to upload a document you wish to scan to PlaXhunter.

    The steps are:
  • Click Document Upload & Scan from the main menu
  • Click Upload a Document from the dropdown
  • Click the Save Uploaded Document to Category button (after you've chosen a document)
  • You will now see the document you've uploaded and saved to a category, waiting to be scanned.
The second action is: Scan a Document. The ultimate objective of PlaXhunter is to allow you to run originality/similarity scans against documents already in the system.
    The steps are:
  • Click Scan a Document from the Document Upload & Scan menu
  • From the Scan a Document page, click Scan Document button
  • The system will start the scanning process and after about a minute or two(this depends on the size of the document and database to search), the originality check report will be displayed. This report tells you how much text in your document is matching text found in other documents. This is a strong indication of potential plagiarism.
